Ezra - week 3
Whenever you attempt something great for God, there will be opposition. This is what happened to the Jews. As they begin to rebuild the temple, the surrounding people try to stop it. In cases like this, we have to make a decision: remain obedient or give up. Often we lament such times, but these are the times in our lives when we grow. We learn new things about God and ourselves as we move forward in trust. Have you faced opposition in the process of being obedient? What did you learn about God? How did God speak to you in this tough time? When we look back and view our circumstances through this kind of lens, you see how it becomes possible to be thankful in all circumstances. God is always there, always leading, always giving us the chance to know Him better and experience Him more fully. Regardless of the circumstances, this is something we can always be thankful for.

One thing is Luke 18:1, and other verses where the Bible says to not fear, but never give up. Somehow, God always pulls us through. I think this applies to our Church now. We do not know what direction God has for us, but if we stay faithful He will pull us through.
Ok, I need some help on the horses and the horns in Zech.1.
We can look at those rough times in our lives and see how God has used them to bring us closer to Him. I am very thankful for those times, but how quickly we forget them when we are in the midst of trouble. I guess that's why Christian fellowship is so important. The Jews stuck together and encouraged one another I'm sure.
Times of testing come not just personally, but also when we are striving to do GOD's will. Yesterday was really tough down at Cornerstone, and a very wise person down there commented that we were being tested. I think that is true. I believe GOD allowed some difficulties to come yesterday to see what we would do...would we just give up? Would we abandon the Word? I am glad to say we did not. It was a struggle, but I believe the core there is a little stronger for it. Praise GOD...where does my help come from? It comes from the LORD!
