Great teaching Sunday J! What a great message. I should note that the next four weeks of readings are posted on the church website if you need them. I will be on vacation this week, but am hopeful that I will be able to check in from time to time. As we move into our second month, I want to encourage everyone to keep up with the reading. I agree with Carl who has mentioned several times that this is better when done together!
Have a great and blessed week!

Carl again, I wanted to say that it says something when the name of Jesus carries such power. True Power is God Himself.
Today's verse makes is so clear that the power is in having Christ within you. That is how Paul was able to pull that off. It wasn't him personally. So many people and other religions think it is sufficient to to know about Jesus or to follow a prophet who teaches Jesus' philosophy, but that isn't it at all...if you do not have the power of Christ within you, you cannot accomplish Christ-like deeds. And if you CAN accomplish Christ-like deeds, it is by the power of the Spirit living inside you - it ain't yer own doin!!!
That is like the verse that says the Kingdom of God is within you. The people in the reading in Acts were on dangerous territory when they did not have the Holy Spirit in them and tried to do the things Paul did. One great thing is that with God all thing are possible!!
Whenever I read that passage from Acts, I always think about the question the demon asked, "But who are you?" It makes me wonder if the demons know me by name. Are they afraid of me? I believe they are. The same Spirit in Paul is now in us, giving us power and authority. The passage from Colossians spells this out. The fullness of Christ dwells in us. How awesome is that! What a source of confidence.
I admit the last of the passages confused me. But as for the rest, just more proof that the Word of God has Power.
